Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish.

Hell IS Real!

Hell is a topic people don’t like to hear or read about.  It is often a taboo in the “all is well, life is great, you’re a wonderful person” sermons heard in far too many churches today.  However, I am here to warn you that Hell is a very real place and I will provide scripture that verifies these truths in just a moment.

You may not want to read this and even think, “I don’t care to read about bad things or anything depressing.”  But let me ask you this, if you saw someone you loved standing in the street and a car coming right at them, wouldn’t you scream, “RUN!  Move!!!”  That is what I am doing now, I am screaming, “move!” to Christ and away from the sins of this world.  “RUN” from eternal death and all the many bad memories of your life forever repeating with no escape.

If you’ve ever wondered what this life is for, let me say it again as I have in articles I’ve written before, it is to bring the lost to Christ, period.  It is not to be the richest, most liked, or anything else.  It is to bring the lost to know the love of a merciful and forgiving God, while warning about the many lies created by the devil to mislead people.

Many people die each day and their eternity is spent in hell.  Many joke about hell and how they want to go there.  Don’t be fooled, hell is not somewhere anyone wants to be.   Hell is a place of torment.  All those bad memories you try so hard to forget are repeated over and over with no relief.  Some people use drugs, alcohol, or even commit suicide, in order to “forget,” but in Hell there is no forgetting.

Satan rules THIS world we currently live in (see John 12:31 and John 14:30 for two scriptures relating to Satan being the prince of this world), and he will spend eternity SUFFERING in hell not ruling it, "And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever." (Revelation 20:10)

Did you know that if you have not chosen Christ as your savior, you belong to the devil?   The book of Matthew shows us this in God’s word; Matthew 12:30a "He that is not with me is against me."   You don’t have to be a murderer or a “bad” person, all it takes is turning from Christ and choosing NOT to have Him as your savior.  Everyone, even children need to accept Christ.  No one, NO ONE, not a priest, pastor, Mary, NO ONE can forgive your sins except Jesus Christ.  John 14:6 "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."  Do not be lied to or led astray, Jesus is the only way to heaven, the ONLY way to forgiveness.

You may think, “How could a loving God wouldn't send someone to Hell?”  God doesn't put anyone in Hell, we wants everyone to go to heaven.  In 2nd Peter 3:9b, Peter writes God’s will for mankind, "...not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."  God is so merciful and loving that He sent Jesus to save us.  He died for our sins, which is why Jesus is referred to as our “Savior.”

No matter what you have ever done, Jesus will cleanse you of all sins.  Isaiah 1:18 reads, “18Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.”

God does not want you in hell, which is why Jesus came.  He does not want anyone in Hell; God does not take pleasure in the death of the wicked.  Ezekial 33:11 reads, “Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live.”

I hope you can fully understand God’s love for you.  Now for those that say, “the bible doesn’t refer to Hell.  It doesn’t exist.  It isn’t a real place.”  Let’s look to the Bible for what God really says:

Jesus speaking of the Final Judgment:

Matthew 25:41 “...Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels.”

The state of Hell:

Revelation 14:11, “And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night.”

Revelation 20:12, 15, “And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life...And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”

The existence of Hell:

Matthew 10:28, “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”

Luke 12:5, “But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which AFTER he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.”

Matthew 18:8, 9 “Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or feet to be cast into everlasting fire. And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire.”

Matthew 25:46, “And these shall go away into EVERLASTING punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.”

II Thessalonians 1:9 “Who shall be punished with EVERLASTING destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power.”

Isaiah 66:24, “And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcasses of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be abhorring unto all flesh.”

Mark 9:44, “Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.”

Revelation 21:8, “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”

Psalm 9:17, “The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.”

Daniel 12:2, “And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and EVERLASTING contempt.”

Read Luke 16:19-31 for a true story about Hell.

Choose Life:

The decision is yours alone to make.  God made a way for you to spend eternity in bliss and happiness, or you may choose to spend your eternity in Hell.  No one but you can choose.

If you have not accepted Jesus as your Savior and would like to, all you need to do is pray a simple prayer like the one below and choose to follow Jesus Christ by reading scriptures (Bible), finding a Godly church (make sure they follow Godly doctrine which is pointed out below), have fellowship with other Christians and pray daily:

"Lord, I know I am a sinner and I am not living life the way I know I should.  I ask you, Father, for your forgiveness!  I believe that Jesus died on the cross to pay the price for my sins.  Please wash me clean from all sin, shame, and guilt, come into my life Jesus to be my Lord and Savior.  I ask this in your name Jesus. Amen!"

This is the first step, now you need to learn more about who God really is or else you will be an easy target for the devil to mislead you through cults, false teachers & preachers, and wrong doctrine.  Read your Bible.

Whenever someone tells you something that seems to contradict a fair and loving God, read your bible.  There is simply no substitute for God’s Word.
